Merchandiser Roadshow Is A Success
The VMI roadshow toured the UK this summer with the aim of launching the “Supermerchandiser” role. Launched by Kate Byrne, National Operations Manager, and key Area Managers from the Operations department, the roadshows were set up at various locations across the country. The events took place over several weeks and delegates who attended were VMI field merchandisers together with training staff from our HR and Operations departments.
The Roadshow gave everyone an opportunity to learn about new products featuring in VMI vending machines and provided training on updated vending machine technology. The events were also to launch the new "Supermerchandiser" role at VMI. Supermerchandisers will be premium merchandisers responsible for key customers across the country. The aim was to give our new Supermerchandisers training and guidance on all aspects of the role. They will then be equiped to perform professionally and with excellent product and machine expertise to enable a top class service to our customers.
Kate Byrne, National Operations Manager, thanked everyone who took part: "We would like to thank all our merchandisers that attended our first road show. From the feedback we received, everyone enjoyed meeting the team of managers at each venue. We hope to build the roadshow to an annual event so that we can inform all merchandisers of changes in the business and explain the way forward as a group."
Plans are already underway for next year's conferences and events for VMI staff both field and office based.
